About this tool
PDF Editor lets you mark up any PDF without installing software: click anywhere to drop a text note (with your choice of size and color), or switch to the draw tool for freehand annotations — signatures, arrows, highlights, corrections. Flip through pages, undo mistakes, clear a page, and export a new PDF with your annotations baked in.
The original document is never modified in place: the tool loads your file, renders each page locally with pdf.js, and rebuilds the PDF with pdf-lib when you export — so the source file stays untouched and everything stays on your device.
How to use
- Upload a PDF file.
- Pick "Add text", click on the page, and type your note.
- Or pick "Draw" and sketch freehand with your chosen color and width.
- Use Select mode to drag notes into place or delete them.
- Click export and download the edited PDF.
Frequently asked questions
No — it adds new text notes and drawings on top of the existing content. Think of it as markup/annotation rather than word-processor-style editing. The original text and layout are preserved exactly.
Yes, for informal purposes: use the Draw tool to write your signature freehand on the page, then export. For legally binding signatures, use a certified e-signature service.
Notes are rendered with the PDF built-in Helvetica font, which only supports Latin characters. Notes containing emoji or non-Latin scripts are skipped with a warning — the rest of the document still exports.
No. Rendering, annotating, and exporting all happen in your browser.
