These tools compute standard hashes like SHA-256 for checksums and data integrity. For storing passwords, a server-side password-hashing function such as bcrypt, scrypt or Argon2 is required — plain SHA-256 is not enough.
A UUID is a 128-bit universally unique identifier, commonly used as database keys, session tokens or unique filenames. Version 4 UUIDs are randomly generated and practically guaranteed to be unique.
No. TOTP codes are computed locally from the secret you enter. The secret and the codes never leave your browser.
