About this tool
Password Generator creates passwords using your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) — the same grade of randomness operating systems use for keys. Tune the length, toggle uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols, exclude ambiguous characters like 0/O and 1/l, and generate up to 50 at once for bulk account setup.
Every password is generated locally and shown with an entropy estimate so you can judge its strength. Nothing is logged, stored, or transmitted.
How to use
- Set the password length with the slider.
- Toggle the character sets you want (upper, lower, digits, symbols).
- Optionally exclude ambiguous characters and choose how many to generate.
- Copy a password or download the batch as a text file.
Frequently asked questions
16+ characters with mixed character sets is a solid default; 20–24 is better for high-value accounts. The entropy readout shows the effective strength in bits — aim for 80+ bits.
They use crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure RNG provided by the browser — suitable for security-sensitive use, unlike Math.random().
No. Generate a unique password per site and store them in a password manager. Bulk generation makes this painless.
Never. Generation is 100% client-side; passwords exist only on your screen.
