About this tool
Good color schemes follow color-wheel relationships, not guesswork. From one base color this generator derives five classic harmonies: complementary, analogous, triadic, split-complementary, and monochromatic.
Every swatch is click-to-copy, and each harmony has a "copy all" button, so moving a palette into your stylesheet takes seconds.
How to use
- Pick or type your base color.
- Browse the five generated harmonies.
- Click any swatch (or Copy all) to grab the hex codes.
Frequently asked questions
Complementary uses the opposite color on the wheel; analogous uses neighbors; triadic uses three evenly spaced colors; split-complementary uses the two colors beside the complement; monochromatic varies lightness of the base color.
Your color is converted to HSL, the hue is rotated by fixed amounts (e.g. +180° for complementary), and the results are converted back to hex.
Yes — colors themselves are not copyrightable, so any generated scheme is free to use in any project.
