About this tool
Copying from a PDF or a narrow web column often produces text where every visual line ends with a hard break, making it impossible to reflow. This tool joins those lines back together: replace each break with a space for flowing prose, or with nothing when breaks split words mid-hyphen.
You can also keep paragraph breaks (double line breaks) intact while joining single breaks — the most common cleanup for pasted articles.
How to use
- Paste your broken-up text into the input box.
- Choose to replace breaks with a space, nothing, or keep paragraph gaps.
- Preview the joined text live.
- Copy or download the result.
Frequently asked questions
Use a space for normal prose so words do not run together. Use nothing when line breaks split words (like hyphenated line wraps from PDFs) — then remove the hyphens too if needed.
Yes. The "preserve paragraphs" mode joins single line breaks but keeps double breaks, which is ideal for cleaning pasted articles while retaining their structure.
Yes. It normalizes CRLF (Windows), LF (Unix/Mac), and old CR (classic Mac) line endings before processing.
