About this tool
Picking a random winner from a list, randomizing quiz questions, or breaking up an ordered dataset all need a fair shuffle — and humans are terrible at randomizing by hand. This tool uses the Fisher–Yates algorithm to give every line an equal chance at every position.
Hit shuffle again for a fresh random order as many times as you like. The lines themselves are never modified, only reordered.
How to use
- Paste your list — one item per line — into the input box.
- Click Shuffle to randomize the order.
- Click again for a new random order.
- Copy or download the shuffled list.
Frequently asked questions
It uses the Fisher–Yates shuffle with the browser's cryptographic-quality random source, so every permutation is equally likely. It is fair for giveaways and draws.
Yes — every click produces a new independent random order. Shuffle as many times as you want.
No. All lines are preserved exactly; only their order changes. The line count before and after is identical.
